Further to this, I came across an interesting fact quoted in a book on Harold Foster's website: the genes on our DNA are outnumbered by the genes on the "ensleeving proteins" that surround them. These secondary genes determine how a DNA gene will be expressed - and they are affected by environment, nutrition, etc. Not only that, changes to ensleeving proteins can be passed on to our children's children. Dietary factors such as omega 3:6 balance cause changes that can be inherited, without changing the central, helical genome.
I will quote this passage in more detail when I have time. But the concept that "genes are destiny" is bunk. - George H.
