The State Health Department says people need to get checked for Hepatitis B and C.
They
say in Washington more than 120,000 people have the virus, but only
about half of the cases have been reported. Right now the health
department is already working on how to prevent more cases.
Starting in June, they'll offer free Hepatitis C testing across the state, and also free vaccines for Hepatitis A and B.
Doctors
say one in 12 people in the world are living with Hepatitis. For this
reason the World Hepatitis Alliance, has come up with a campaign called
Am I number 12?. The Washington Health Department is also working with
this campaign.
