Filtration Plants in 100 Dist Hospitals to be installed in FY-2008-09 |

ISLAMABAD: Under the Prime Minister programme for Prevention and Control of hepatitis, the process of installation of filtration plants has been completed in 50 District Hospitals of the country.
In the fiscal year of 2008-09, Filtration Plants would be installed in 100 Districts Hospitals of the country and the installation of these filtration plants would be helpful in controlling the spread of Hepatitis A and C.
The treatment of over 24,000 patients of hepatitis C and vaccination of more than 0.6 million people have been completed and it is 400 percent and 50 percent higher respectively as compare to the target.
According to PC-1 of five years national programme, 5,650 patients of hepatitis -C were to be provided treatment but nearly 24,279 patients were treated which is 400 percent higher than the target while 6,21,000 patents were vaccinated as compare to the target of 405000 patients.
The officials and prisoners of jails and health workers were also vaccinated which was also 50 percent higher than the target.
