Welcome to our anonymous survey on the experiences of those with hepatitis C. Your time and willingness to share your experiences are greatly appreciated.

The results of this study are expected to contribute to a greater understanding about appropriate and targeted support for people with hepatitis C. The survey should take you about 20 minutes to complete.

This project is being undertaken by Margie Fry as a component of a Master of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) under the supervision of Professor Glen Bates at Swinburne University of Technology in Victoria, Australia.


Explanation of this project:
This project It aims to add to the understanding of the experience of a hepatitis C diagnosis. We are interested in investigating the relationship between distress and factors such as illness uncertainty and self-management in those who are hepatitis C positive. The results of this study are expected to contribute to a greater understanding about appropriate and targeted psychological support for people with hepatitis C.

About the questionnaire:
If you choose to participate in this project, you will be asked to fill in several short questionnaires which will cover things like how hepatitis C impacts on your life, the level of uncertainty you experience around having hepatitis C and how confident you feel to manage aspects of the condition. There are other more general questions such as how you have been feeling over the past week and how you experience close relationships .General demographic information will also be collected. Undertaking this study offers participants the opportunity to reflection their own experiences and contribute to a greater understanding of the experience of living with hepatitis C.
